News Knowing you are loved… 1 July 2021 | Nikola Gordon Share this post Love is the driving force for most of what we do in our lives, whether it is our love for something or someone, or their love for us. We live in a world that portrays a very superficial and conditional kind of love which has us constantly striving for perfection and feeling like we must be the best that we can be for everyone. The result is burn out, feeling inadequate or just not enough. But how much more enriched would your life be if you knew that you were unconditionally loved despite anything you could ever do or be! Would that not be an even greater motivation to live life in all its fullness, not just for other people, but simply because it’s a gift that has been given to you to enjoy by a God who loves you? From the start of the Bible in Genesis to the very end in Revelation, God’s love and purpose for mankind is revealed. Most of us are probably familiar with Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (NKJV) But do we actually know the reason why? In Revelation 4:11 it says, “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (NKJV) It is by God’s will that we exist, some translations say that it was for His pleasure, we were created. God created this earth and everything on it simply because He loved us and wanted to have a relationship with us. He created us as human beings and not human doings. All God has ever wanted is your heart. It says in 1 John 4:19 that we love Him because He first loved us, and He showed the ultimate expression of that love by choosing to lay His life down for us. It tells us in Romans 5:8 that God loved and died for us even while we were still sinners, even though we had been living independently from Him. The greatest thing you could ever do is to find out how much you are loved and valued by the One who created you. That is ultimately where you will find your self-worth and purpose. Nothing and no one else can give that to you. You were made and fashioned in a way that is so unique. There is only one of you, and only you can give to this world what God has placed within you. We pray that your heart will be open to receive all that God has for you, as we pray the same for our Sponsor Children in the Philippines. But ultimately, we pray you will know how deep and rich His love is for you.
