Sewing Machine Appeal

Shape

Help equip women completing the Dressmaking qualification in our Women’s Training Programme with the tools to use their new skills, earn an income and work towards self-sufficiency.

Turning skills into opportunity

Through our Women’s Training Programme, women are given the opportunity to gain practical dressmaking skills and qualifications. But completing their training is only part of the journey. By providing each woman with her own sewing machine and station, we can help her put those skills into practice and take the next step towards earning an income and becoming self-sufficient. Your gift helps turn what she has learnt into an opportunity for her future.

Meet Rhodora

Rhodora is the mother of one of the children supported through The Purim Trust’s Sponsorship Programme. After years of financial uncertainty, she was given the opportunity to take part in our Dressmaking Training Programme. Through the training, Rhodora gained practical dressmaking skills and the confidence to begin looking towards a different future for her family. With her own sewing machine, she hopes to establish a home-based sewing livelihood, allowing her to earn an income while continuing to care for her family and support her children.

For Rhodora, a sewing machine represents far more than a piece of equipment. It is an opportunity to put her new skills into practice, become more self-sufficient and build a more secure future for her family. “This opportunity has lifted a heavy burden from my heart and given me renewed courage to face the future.”
