Dealing with comparison…

| Nikola Gordon
Isn’t it amazing how every single person who has ever lived and will live on this earth is so individual and unique? No two people are ever the same.
Did you know that it’s the same for the calling God has placed on your life?
Your calling will look completely different to that of someone else’s. Obviously many people are called to the same causes, but how they get there and the things they experience along the way will be completely different.
God loved you so much that He took time to plan out every single day of your life. He is invested in your destiny so deeply that every detail is meticulously planned – divine connections, timing, relationships, and so on.
That’s why it’s a huge mistake for us to compare our path with someone else’s. Even if we are heading in the same direction, the path will always look different.
If you’re not careful to guard your heart from comparison, the enemy will try to convince you that there’s always something wrong with you – that you’re unworthy, unusable, and forgotten. He’s after your calling and if he can get you to believe his lies, it will paralyze you from moving forward.
So, take this as your reminder and encouragement to chill out a little if you’ve been anxious or restless, wondering what’s next or when things will change.
God is not in a rush; He cares and values your life so much that He is willing to take His time with you as you prepare for the things He has for you – which are beyond what you could ever imagine.
Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) – Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
That’s His promise to you. He’s got you. You are not forgotten, and if you will continue to renew your mind and prepare your heart, He is faithful to get you where you need to go.
