News How to revive HOPE 17 October 2023 | Nikola Gordon Share this post Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12 (NLT) We all experience things in this life that will try to shake our hope – disappointments, loss, relationship failures, hurt or mistreatment, sickness, stress or anxiousness, and on and on. It might be that you’re in a place right now where there looks like no way out – where all hope of things changing has gone. The Bible talks a lot about hope and shows us the impact on a heart void of hope. When you have no hope, it can feel like there’s no point to anything – vision and purpose are lost. You feel like you are barely making it each day. On the other hand, when a dream or desire is fulfilled it is lifegiving. God made us with dreams and desires that are meant to be fulfilled – to be successful, to raise a family, to make a difference and be a blessing to others, to explore and discover things, to be creative. But when hardships and challenges come, they can beat down those hopes and dreams and we go into a ‘survive’ mentality instead of a ‘thrive’ mentality. So how do we revive hope? Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. Psalm 33:22 (NLT) You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. Psalm 119:114 (NLT) The Bible tells us that hope comes from allowing yourself to be loved by God, even if you feel like you’re in the worst place you’ve ever been in. He wants to speak into the situation you are going through right now through His word. He wants to revive HOPE in your heart. So take some time out today and just sit with your heavenly Father. Soak in His word and His promises to you; let yourself be surrounded by His unfailing love and watch HOPE come alive in your heart again. Please find some more scriptures below about HOPE for you to meditate on. All scriptures in NLT version. Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! … Psalm 42:5-6 (NLT) Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” Romans 4:18 (NLT) Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Romans 15:4 (NLT) I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NLT) P.S. Are you going through a situation right now that feels hopeless?
