News What will you say yes to this year? 31 January 2023 | Nikola Gordon Share this post We all have different things we will be stepping into this year – maybe it’s a new chapter in your life, a new routine, new goals, new relationships, or new adventures. Or maybe you’re stepping into some uncertainty, fear, or disappointment you’ve experienced from last year. It can be easy to find yourself saying yes to other people’s expectations for your plans and dreams, or even their opinions of how something didn’t work out for you in the past. Whatever you say yes to, whether that be expectations, opinions, lies, or even encouragements – they all carry the power to change your life if you agree with them. So it’s important that you choose who and what you will say yes to, because when you give your yes to something, essentially you are surrendering to it. Romans 12:1-2 says, ‘And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.’ (NLT) God has a good, pleasing, and perfect will for you – for your health, your family, your job, your finances, and your calling – that goes way beyond this year! He invites you to draw close and surrender to Him, to say yes to all the things He has prepared for you to walk in. Regardless of your past mistakes or experiences, you are only one ‘yes’ away from changing your life. So, will you make 2023 the year you abandon all limitations, excuses, fear, and doubts and say yes to God and all that He has for you? P.S.
