One choice away from a miracle

Christmas is all about celebrating the biggest miracle of all – that God loved humanity so much that He would give up His only Son to save us.

But did you know that for God’s plan of salvation to unfold, He had to rely on the obedience and choices of everyday people? Every person involved in this extraordinary story had to decide whether to accept God’s plan for them, and none more so than Mary.

Mary was a young girl from a small, insignificant town called Nazareth. Yet, God chose her to play a significant role in His plan to redeem mankind.

One moment and one choice changed Mary’s life forever. When the angel Gabriel told her God’s plan – that she would carry and give birth to a Savior born to save the world from sin – she had to choose how she was going to respond.

Luke 1:30-33 (NKJV):
Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Mary must have had countless questions racing through her mind as she listened to the angel’s words – some that she couldn’t fully answer. Yet, her response in Luke 1:38 speaks volumes:

“Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”

Mary didn’t have everything figured out, and she faced great uncertainty in choosing to obey God’s plan. Yet, her choice ushered in the greatest miracle in human history which resulted in redemption for all mankind.

What miracles could be waiting at the end of your ‘yes’? What if 2025 is the year you choose to say ‘yes’ to all that God has for you. How many lives could be impacted by your obedience?

You could be just one choice away from a miracle.
